Marcello Abudanza has signed a new contract with the women’s national volleyball team.

Marcelo Abondanza’s season officially started in the women’s national volleyball team. The Italian coach signed his contract with the Hellenic Volleyball Federation, which runs until 2024, in the presence of EOPE President George Karabetsos and Secretary General Nektarios Halvatzis.

“It is with great pleasure that we welcome Mr. Abodanza to the Greek volleyball family. A renowned technician who doesn’t need any special recommendations as his work speaks for itself over the years wherever he has worked. “As the administration of the federation, we had said from the very beginning that we would do everything in our power to help the national teams bring Greek volleyball back to where we believe it really is.” said the President of EOPE George Karabetsos and continued:

“Our participation in two consecutive European Championship finals was a first step in this direction and the agreement with Mr Abudanza is the next. I promise to provide the Italian coach with everything he asks of us, to have the right tools to achieve the great goals that we have set for our favorite sport. I wish him the best of luck and I am sure that all of Greek volleyball will stand by his side and by the side of the national team in this endeavor.”

For his part, Mr Abudanza stressed: “I’ve always liked the idea of working for a national team, which is very different from working for a club. My President presented a very interesting project for the women’s national team to bring the team to the level of previous years in combination with the rise of the new generation of Greek volleyball. I know we’re not a top-level team at the moment, but a new effort is starting and this project is really very interesting.
