He hit the back of his head on the floor and lost consciousness. Scary drama of the best volleyball player in the world

Leon woke up already at the end of the match. The former Zenit player was immediately hospitalized.

The world’s best volleyball player Wilfredo Leon was hospitalized during a Super Bowl match after an unexpected incident right on the court.

It’s good to have doctors nearby!

Volleyball legend

Cuban player Wilfredo Leon, now representing Poland, is almost unanimously recognized by experts as the best volleyball player in the world. At the age of 14, Wilfredo made his debut in the Cuban national team, and at 17 he was already entrusted with the title of captain.

Since 2014, the player has delighted Russian fans for several seasons, defending the colors of Zenit Kazan, in which he turned into a real scoring machine. The coaching staff, headed by Vladimir Alekno, brought the Cuban’s playing skills to an incredible level. It was at this point that Leon began to be called the best volleyball player on the planet, although he always modestly rejected these conversations.

But for Wilfredo, his numerous individual awards can say more. He was included in the symbolic team of the Final Four of the Champions League four times, he was twice recognized as the best player in this tournament when he played for Zenit Kazan. In recent years, the athlete has been playing in the Italian championship for the local Perugia, where he can also boast of numerous trophies: both individual and team.

Lost consciousness on the verge of victory

On November 1, Wilfredo, with Perugia, struggled to add a new trophy to his extensive collection. In the final of the Super Cup, Leon’s team opposed the Kuchin-Lube club. The game turned out to be very difficult for both teams, and the identification of the winner dragged on until the tie-break, which was better carried out by Perugia volleyball players.

At the decisive moment, when Perugia had three points left to score, Leon decided to take over the game. Wilfredo attacked after not the most convenient transfer of a partner. In a long jump, he struck a blow, but did not hit the site. The volleyball player, however, failed to understand this. On landing, he slipped, fell and hit the back of his head very hard on the platform.

From such a fall, Leon immediately lost consciousness. It is good that the doctors who were on duty at the match responded in time. They quickly came to the rescue and brought the player back to consciousness. He left the arena on his feet.

“Medical workers of the club saved Leon after falling right on the court,” the Italian team said in an official statement.

Naturally, there was no need to talk about any continuation of the match. The volleyball player was immediately taken to a local hospital for an in-depth medical examination. After several hours of checks, the player’s wife, Malgorzat, spoke about his condition.

Wilfredo returned to the hotel after the examination, apparently, there is no cause for concern, the wife wrote on social networks.

The next day, the club published a video where Leon himself says that he is doing well.

“I got scared, losing consciousness for a while. When I came to my senses, the match was over, said Wilfredo.

It is good that this fall did not psychologically affect his teammates, and they were able to bring the meeting to victory.

A doctor from the Yenisei volleyball club provided emergency assistance to a child on board the plane

The doctor of the men’s volleyball club “Yenisei” from Krasnoyarsk, Shakhriyar Mirzoev, provided emergency assistance to the boy on board the plane.

The incident happened during the New Year holidays on the Kazan-Krasnoyarsk flight. The specialist noticed that the man and child were in the toilet for 20 minutes, and the flight attendant came in there periodically.

“I approached and saw that a boy of about nine was standing at the sink filled with water and blood. At that moment, the flight attendant began to ask if there was a doctor on board, to which I replied: “I’m a doctor, I’ll help now.”

I tried to stop the bleeding using cotton wool and improvised means that the conductors had, applying cold to the bridge of the nose. But this had no effect – everything was soaked in blood. The bleeding did not stop for about 20 minutes.

I tried to calm the child down and began to think about what to do next. I asked the flight attendants for a first aid kit and found ampoules of adrenaline there. Having opened two ampoules, I soaked two cotton pads with the solution and inserted them deep into the child’s nose. After a couple of minutes, I saw that the blood had stopped,” AiF Krasnoyarsk quotes Mirzoev as saying.

The child came to his senses. As it turned out, the boy had undergone surgery to remove his adenoids the day before, which probably caused the bleeding.
