Challenge Cup Men’s Volleyball: Olympiacos meets Burgas in the first game of the ’16’
On Wednesday afternoon (November 30, 7:00 p.m., COSMOTE Sport 6 HD) Olympiacos will meet Burgas in the first game of the round of 16 of the Challenge Cup.
On Wednesday (November 30th) at 7:00 p.m. (COSMOTE Sport 6 HD), the Red and White Burgas will welcome “M. Merkouri”, in the first and decisive game of the “16” phase of the Challenge Cup.
Against the Bulgarian team, the “Red-Whites” want to use the home factor and get the win to take the first step towards qualifying for the “8” of the competition against the background of the “16” rematch in Bulgaria on 12/13.
Alberto Giuliani stressed on Olympiacos official website: “It won’t be an easy game because of the value of the opposing team, we have to fight for that, do our best to get a positive result. We’re playing against a team whose best weapon is their serve.”.
For his part, Salvador Hidalgo said: “The game against Burgas will be interesting. We are two teams with experienced players who will fight to get to the next round! We as Olympiacos have to focus a lot on our work from the start, attacking, serving, receiving finals. Our Welt will play an important role in the game, she will be our seventh player on the field. Kazan “Zenit” became the winner of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.
On Friday, the Kazan team beat Lokomotiv from Novosibirsk – 3-1 (25:19, 25:17, 23:25, 25:21).
Zenit won the Russian Super Cup for the third year in a row. In total, the Kazan team has a record 11 victories in the tournament. Lokomotiv took part in the decisive matches for the trophy four times, but were defeated each time.
For the first time in history, the Russian Super Cup was held in the Final Four format. All meetings took place in St. Petersburg.

Kazan “Zenit” defeated “Zenith” from St. Petersburg in the semi-finals of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.
The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3-2 (25:20, 25:17, 18:25, 23:25, 15:12) in favor of the Kazan team.
In the other semi-final earlier on Thursday, Lokomotiv Novosibirsk defeated Dynamo Moscow in four sets.
The final match between Lokomotiv and Zenit will take place on Friday, starting at 19:30 Moscow time.

In the other semi-final, which will take place later on Thursday, St. Petersburg and Kazan Zenit will meet.
The final match will take place on December 26.
