Comfortable win over Bergen in Norway for Panathinaikos and Klee favorite for the Eight
Panathinaikos defeated Bergen 3-0 in Norway and bowed out to the ‘eight’ of the men’s Challenge Cup as they want just two sets in the second leg in Agios Thomas on Wednesday (14/12).
Panathinaikos took a clear lead in qualifying for the quarterfinals of the men’s Challenge Cup, winning 3-0 sets from Norway and the home game against Bergen.
At the repeat on Wednesday, December 14 in Agios Thomas, the “Greens” need two sets to secure their ticket for eighth place.
Dimitris Andreopoulos rested Andreas Fragos and Vassilis Kostopoulos took the starter’s jersey, while Axel Jacobsen, Fernando Hernandez and Giorgos Petraes were on the bench after the second set.
Panathinaikos only met the Norwegians in the third set when they led 8-3. The “Greens” equalized the set (15:15) and a little later went into the lead with the score (20:21) to win 23:25.
