Women’s Volleyball League: Unstoppable PAOK won a 3-0 set against Olympiakos

The match: The two sides managed to make small runs early in the game but the one who took advantage of them was Olympiacos. The red-white built a difference that reached four points (12-16).

From that point, PAOK launched its counterattack and, with the services of Vergidou, managed to run 4-0 and turn 19-20 into 23-20. After that, Strantzali responded and finished the first set 25-21.

The second set was a different picture. With psychology at its peak, PAOK came out strong from the start and managed to build a difference that reached as high as four points (14-10).

From there, Olympiacos managed to level the set at 15-15 with a sustained counterattack. The two teams went hand in hand until 18-18, but at that point PAOK managed to escape and finished the set with a partial 7-1, 25-19.

In the third set we fought to the last point. PAOK and Olympiacos took turns at the top and both teams reached the final stretch hand in hand, with Krol and Salas as their main attacking weapons.

The Olympiakos Cuban winger erased PAOK’s first bowl set with a block against Krol, but the double-header with an attack from Caffrey and an ace from Blanco ended the set.
