Women’s Volleyball League: AEK moved up to second place, Panathinaikos beat Olympiakos
AEK defeated Ilysiakos 3-0 to move up to second place in the Volley League standings, while Panathinaikos prevailed in Egaleo with the same result and caught Olympiakos in third place.
AEK now sits alone in second place. after winning the set 3-0 in Ilyssiakou’s home game. The Union is on 19 points with their 7th win in 8 games, since after the defeat of Olympiakos against PAOK is at +1 of “red and white” but also of Panathinaikos.
AEK only had to make a comeback in the second set, Ilysiakos took an early lead of 6:1, but the set ended at 12:12 with 18:25.

Great win for Lamia
AO got a big win with a surprise at Aris HQ. Lamias 2013, who got the three points with 3:1 sets. This win was Lamia’s first away for the Ilias Angeli athletes and it came with a twist as Aris was the one to lead the score with a 1-0 set.
The second set was decided with the minimal difference (24:26), which gave the guests a boost, who also won the third set by 21:25.
In the fourth set, Aris led 15-13, only to finish the set 19-25 and the game 3-1 shortly after, after a 6-0 run for Lamia, who took a 15-19 lead.

Easy crossing of AO Thiras from Markopoulos
In the away derby (since the difference between the two teams was one point before the game started), AO Thiras had more solutions and left Mesogeia with the three points.
This was the fourth consecutive win for AO Thiras and accordingly the fourth consecutive defeat for AO Markopoulos Revoil, with the home side without Fitzmaurice, Fitterer (injured) and the visitors without Lagerer.
The big difference between the two teams was in attack and blocking, with AOTH leading 1-7 in the first set and AOM pulling a little bit of the difference (7-9) but without threatening.
The scene was different in the next two as AOM made contact with goal (16-18 in the second, 15-16 in the third), but the Santorini team found a way to close the gap and go 0-3.

Return to wins for Thetida who victoriously overtook Zirineo and ZAON in their 8th loss in as many games.
The home team again only played with Greek women and was very competitive in the first set against the superior Thetis. From the start of the first set, the visiting team took a small lead (2-4, 4-8) and maintained it throughout (7-10, 10-14, 13-17, 18-21) with the struggling ZAON trying but failing come closer.
In the next two, Thetis built quickly (0-6 in Set 2, 3-9 from 3-3 in Set 3) and drove to victory with no surprises.
