PAOK won a 3-1 set against Foinikas in Syros to remain at the top of the men’s volleyball league along with Olympiacos. Milo turned up the heat and defeated Aristotle.

PAOK, featuring Van de Dries, Theodoros Voulkidis and Menelaus Kokkinakis, defeated Foinikas 3-1 in Syros to remain at the top of the table with Olympiakos on 18 points each.

Phoenix ONEX managed to lead 1-0 in sets, but then could not put more pressure on service and attack and had to admit defeat to the best and most complete PAOK, who had last year’s Syrian coach Josko Milenkoski on the bench.

The first two movements were impressive. In the first set, 23-19 went 23-22 for Phoenix with PAOK’s 3-0 run off Van de Dries’ serve. The doubleheader was tied with Raptis 24-24, but Phoenix, with an attack by Jerezuelo and a mistake by Raptis, won the set 27-25 for the 1st set.

Finikas took a 6-3 lead on Djuric’s serve, but PAOK leveled the match. He led Van de Dries, passing 14-12 and holding the lead for 25-23 and 1-1 set until the end.

From the 3rd set, PAOK completely dominated thanks to its dominance in the block with Kosta and Voulkidis, who also played in Phoenix in the past. PAOK escaped 6-2 and kept the difference until the end as Phoenix was tired and making mistakes.

The free throw came in the 4th set, Raptis made the difference to 9-6. Phoenix parted 15-15 with Michalovic, but back-to-back blocks from Van de Dries and Costa gave PAOK a 3-0 run for 22-18 and 23-19. Sotiriou lost serve (20-23) but PAOK with Walsh, good defense and Jerezuelo’s lost serve earned the precious 3-1 win to capture the three points.

Milos turned up and won

Milos celebrates his 4th victory in the championship and jumped to 13 points in the standings after the 7th game. Sakis Psarras’ team, coming into play from the 2nd set, responded to the dynamic hitting of Aristotelis Skydras and with a continuous attack of serve, block and attack and with the leaders Andreadis, Efraimidis, Chandrino winning 3-1 sets .

Aristotelis Skydras came into play strongly and won the first set thanks to the enthusiasm and momentum of the Cubans, but then he ran out of energy and spirit and literally collapsed.

After losing again, they remain with 3 points on the last place in the table together with OFI, who play against Athlos tomorrow. First scorers were Mendez and Flores and Mendez with 12 and 10 points respectively.

In the first set, Milos came into play thanks to the dominance of Andreadis with an 8-5 lead, but little by little the picture of the game changed. The Neosmyrnians easily made the mistake and Aristotelis passed Chelios 14:12 after a 10:10 draw with Sandoval. New mistakes by the home team and Mendez’s block led to 19:15 for Aristoteles. An enumeration of errors by Molina, Ephraimidis, and the theorem ended 25-20 for Aristotle.

Milos put in his worst set of the year and by switching his serving tactic from jump to float he took control. Aristotle couldn’t handle a seemingly simple serve. Milo escaped 11-5 with Andreadis and with the new series from Dimitoulis’ serve the score rose to 23-12 and the set ended with Andreadis 25-12.

With Molina’s serve and the ace to make it 7-3, Milos went strong into the second set. They gradually increased the performance of Yordanov and Efraimidis and the result was doubled to 20-10 with Nanopoulos’ ace. Served ended with Sandoval breaking serve for a comfortable set 25-13 and 2-0.

Aristotelis with no solutions after Enuresis dominated, was easy prey for Milos, who with Yordanov as the protagonist got away 8-4 and later 15-7 thanks to Andredis’ float serve. The match ended 25-15 with Mendez losing serve.
