Pegasos 3-2 Panathinaikos: Great victory for the Polichni team, second loss for the Greens
Pegasos Polichnis won a 3-2 set against Panathinaikos to force the Greens to their second defeat in the men’s volleyball league.
The biggest win in their history came from Pegasos, who beat Panathinaikos 3-2 to climb to seven points in the Volley League.
On the other hand, the Greens lost for the second time in the league (after losing 3-0 to Milos) and at the same time their first tie-break of the season.
Pegasus pushed the greens as hard as he couldconverted from serve, taking advantage of Panathinaikos’ many mistakes and scoring a great win.
Dimitris Andreopoulos’ team probably believed after winning the 1st set that the three points would come easily, but as proved in the matches of this year’s championship, there are no easy “passes” in the category.
And this was proven tonight in Polichni, where with pressure on serve, constant reception and effective counterattack, Pegasos managed to equalize the result twice with sets 1-1 and 2-2, while winning the 3rd set despite a 22 lead: 20 and 24 lost – 23 Panathinaikos turned it around.
The final was also dramatic as Pegasus led 11-9 in the 5th set. Panathinaikos overtook to go 14-13 and 15-14 with Barreto’s error, but Pegasos with a 3-0 run thanks to Barreto, Mavrovouniotis’ defense and Armenakis’ block in the final made a 3-0 run and was 17-15 won by 3:2 sets.

A doctor from the Yenisei volleyball club provided emergency assistance to a child on board the plane
The doctor of the men’s volleyball club “Yenisei” from Krasnoyarsk, Shakhriyar Mirzoev, provided emergency assistance to the boy on board the plane.
The incident happened during the New Year holidays on the Kazan-Krasnoyarsk flight. The specialist noticed that the man and child were in the toilet for 20 minutes, and the flight attendant came in there periodically.
“I approached and saw that a boy of about nine was standing at the sink filled with water and blood. At that moment, the flight attendant began to ask if there was a doctor on board, to which I replied: “I’m a doctor, I’ll help now.”
I tried to stop the bleeding using cotton wool and improvised means that the conductors had, applying cold to the bridge of the nose. But this had no effect – everything was soaked in blood. The bleeding did not stop for about 20 minutes.
I tried to calm the child down and began to think about what to do next. I asked the flight attendants for a first aid kit and found ampoules of adrenaline there. Having opened two ampoules, I soaked two cotton pads with the solution and inserted them deep into the child’s nose. After a couple of minutes, I saw that the blood had stopped,” AiF Krasnoyarsk quotes Mirzoev as saying.
The child came to his senses. As it turned out, the boy had undergone surgery to remove his adenoids the day before, which probably caused the bleeding.

Volleyball players of St. Petersburg “Zenith” beat “Nova” and won their fifth victory in a row in the Super League
St. Petersburg “Zenith” defeated “Nova” from Novokuybyshevsk in the match of the 18th round of the Russian Volleyball Championship.
The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3–2 (25:17, 25:21, 19:25, 20:25, 15:13). Zenit extended its winning streak in the Super League to five matches.
