Panathinaikos 3-0 Bergen: The Greens advanced to the ‘8’ and deep eternal derby
Panathinaikos again won 3-0 sets against Bergen, advanced to the “8” of the Challenge Cup and a semi-final against Olympiakos is quite possible.
Panathinaikos secured a celebratory qualification for the Quarterfinals challenge cup. In the rematch against Norway’s Bergen Vikings, which took place in Agios Thomas’ gymnasium, they won comfortably 3-0 (25-18, 25-14, 25-16) and advanced to the “8” of the competition.
Recall that Panathinaikos won the first game in Norway by 3-0 sets. They become the second Greek side after Olympiakos to reach the quarter-finals, while PAOK will also compete on Thursday 15/12.
If Panathinaikos and Olympiacos overtake their opponents in the quarterfinals, they will face each other in the semifinals of the competition.
Panathinaikos played in the basic formation with Vassilis Kostopoulos partnering Andreas Fragos on the wings and Achillea’s base instead of Rangel and partnering Petraas in the central positions. First scorer was Fragos with 12 points.
But Hernandez was also used for two sentences. Once qualification was secured, he retired to the bench and was replaced by Angelos Markou, who scored 9 of his 12 points in the game in a set. Andreas Fragos was also in double digits with 12 points and Hernandez with 10 points.
Panathinaikos will know his opponent in the quarterfinals tomorrow. They face either Murov Baku from Azerbaijan or Orion Doettingen from the Netherlands, who play against each other on Thursday 15 December at 19:00. The Dutch are in the lead after winning the first game 3-1 (29-27, 19-25, 25-12, 25-19).

A doctor from the Yenisei volleyball club provided emergency assistance to a child on board the plane
The doctor of the men’s volleyball club “Yenisei” from Krasnoyarsk, Shakhriyar Mirzoev, provided emergency assistance to the boy on board the plane.
The incident happened during the New Year holidays on the Kazan-Krasnoyarsk flight. The specialist noticed that the man and child were in the toilet for 20 minutes, and the flight attendant came in there periodically.
“I approached and saw that a boy of about nine was standing at the sink filled with water and blood. At that moment, the flight attendant began to ask if there was a doctor on board, to which I replied: “I’m a doctor, I’ll help now.”
I tried to stop the bleeding using cotton wool and improvised means that the conductors had, applying cold to the bridge of the nose. But this had no effect – everything was soaked in blood. The bleeding did not stop for about 20 minutes.
I tried to calm the child down and began to think about what to do next. I asked the flight attendants for a first aid kit and found ampoules of adrenaline there. Having opened two ampoules, I soaked two cotton pads with the solution and inserted them deep into the child’s nose. After a couple of minutes, I saw that the blood had stopped,” AiF Krasnoyarsk quotes Mirzoev as saying.
The child came to his senses. As it turned out, the boy had undergone surgery to remove his adenoids the day before, which probably caused the bleeding.
