PAOK – Brno 3-2: Qualifying lead with big surprise for Dikefalos

PAOK fell behind with a 2-0 set against Brno in the Czech Republic, but managed to turn the tide and won 3-2 for the “32” of the CEV Challenge Cup.

PAOK won the first game against Czech Brno and won 3-2 in Thessaloniki for the round of 32 stage of the CEV Challenge Cup.


Blanco was Dicephalos’ leading player, who also provided the trigger for the upset. The Czechs started furiously and won the first set 2-13 and in the end 14-25. The second set followed the same pattern, with Marco Feolio’s team earning just one more point (15-25).

However, in the third set, PAOK woke up and managed to turn the match around. In the third set, Brno was constantly chasing Dikefalos, but ultimately lost 25:22. The fourth set was the easiest for PAOK in which they easily won 25-10.

In the fifth and final set, Brno only had a 0:2 lead, PAOK turned around and won 15:11 in the end. The second leg of the two teams will take place next Wednesday (December 21, 7 p.m.).
