The leader of the Kazan “Zenith” and the Russian national volleyball team, Olympic champion Maxim Mikhailov, said that he received proposals from Europe, but not the loudest.
– There were proposals from Europe, but I would not say that they were loud. I don’t know how the system works there. Anyway, few of us from Russia play abroad – only a few in my career. Maybe there are agents or people working on both sides. I probably regret that I didn’t play in Europe at the time, but there were no super interesting offers either.
I’m not surprised at anything. Especially since I have a lot of experience. I understand how it all works, especially now, in our time, and in the last five or six years. There is a biased attitude towards Russia: in terms of doping stories, scandals, and political, economic things. Maybe that’s why not everyone wants to see us at home. But we can’t know for sure, we are athletes, we are doing our job, ”Mikhailov told the Championship.
