Ukrainian volleyball player escaped from a Turkish club because of a Russian teammate
Timofei Poluyan, a player from the Turkish club Hekimoglu and the Ukrainian national team, was forced to leave the team when he was banned from playing in the same club with Russian Aleksey Nalobin at home.
Poluyan moved to Hekimoglu on January 14, and already on the night of January 16 he left the team from Bursa without notifying the club.
“According to the information given to us by Poluyan’s manager, we received a call from the Volleyball Federation of Ukraine. The athlete was asked to leave the team due to the fact that we have a Russian player (Aleksey Nalobin). It was reported that they would never allow their players to play in a team with the Russians, and if he did not leave, he would no longer be allowed into the national team and his license would be canceled, Hekimoglu said in a statement.
The Turkish club also spoke about the proposal of the Ukrainian federation to abandon the Russian Nalobin, offering instead of him “another player”.
“We stated that we would not participate in such an event, which is completely contrary to the spirit of the sport, and demanded that the contract be respected. We do not agree that athletes are tools for these dirty games, the Turkish club said in a statement.

A doctor from the Yenisei volleyball club provided emergency assistance to a child on board the plane
The doctor of the men’s volleyball club “Yenisei” from Krasnoyarsk, Shakhriyar Mirzoev, provided emergency assistance to the boy on board the plane.
The incident happened during the New Year holidays on the Kazan-Krasnoyarsk flight. The specialist noticed that the man and child were in the toilet for 20 minutes, and the flight attendant came in there periodically.
“I approached and saw that a boy of about nine was standing at the sink filled with water and blood. At that moment, the flight attendant began to ask if there was a doctor on board, to which I replied: “I’m a doctor, I’ll help now.”
I tried to stop the bleeding using cotton wool and improvised means that the conductors had, applying cold to the bridge of the nose. But this had no effect – everything was soaked in blood. The bleeding did not stop for about 20 minutes.
I tried to calm the child down and began to think about what to do next. I asked the flight attendants for a first aid kit and found ampoules of adrenaline there. Having opened two ampoules, I soaked two cotton pads with the solution and inserted them deep into the child’s nose. After a couple of minutes, I saw that the blood had stopped,” AiF Krasnoyarsk quotes Mirzoev as saying.
The child came to his senses. As it turned out, the boy had undergone surgery to remove his adenoids the day before, which probably caused the bleeding.

Volleyball players of St. Petersburg “Zenith” beat “Nova” and won their fifth victory in a row in the Super League
St. Petersburg “Zenith” defeated “Nova” from Novokuybyshevsk in the match of the 18th round of the Russian Volleyball Championship.
The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3–2 (25:17, 25:21, 19:25, 20:25, 15:13). Zenit extended its winning streak in the Super League to five matches.
In other matches of the day, Zenit Kazan beat Krasnoyarsk Yenisey at home – 3-1 (25:18, 25:20, 25:27, 25:20), the Dynamo-LO club (Sosnovy Bor) defeated Kemerovo Kuzbass at home – 3-0 (25:15, 25:19, 25:20).
