Men’s Volleyball Greek Cup: Aris, Athos eliminated AEK in Quarterfinals

Aris won the thriller against Aristotelis by 3-2 sets and qualified for the quarter-finals of the Greek Cup. Athlos eliminated AEK and was in the “8” for the first time in his history. Kifissia completed the eight.

Athlos in the quarterfinals for the first time

Advancing to 8″ for Kifisia, 3-0 OFI

The picture of the game didn’t change in the 3rd set either, when Kifisia pressed OFI from 9 yards and led 9-3 by points from a counterattack. Kifisia “didn’t look back” comfortably maintained the lead, winning the set 25-16.

The doctor of the men’s volleyball club “Yenisei” from Krasnoyarsk, Shakhriyar Mirzoev, provided emergency assistance to the boy on board the plane.

The incident happened during the New Year holidays on the Kazan-Krasnoyarsk flight. The specialist noticed that the man and child were in the toilet for 20 minutes, and the flight attendant came in there periodically.

“I approached and saw that a boy of about nine was standing at the sink filled with water and blood. At that moment, the flight attendant began to ask if there was a doctor on board, to which I replied: “I’m a doctor, I’ll help now.”

I tried to stop the bleeding using cotton wool and improvised means that the conductors had, applying cold to the bridge of the nose. But this had no effect – everything was soaked in blood. The bleeding did not stop for about 20 minutes.

I tried to calm the child down and began to think about what to do next. I asked the flight attendants for a first aid kit and found ampoules of adrenaline there. Having opened two ampoules, I soaked two cotton pads with the solution and inserted them deep into the child’s nose. After a couple of minutes, I saw that the blood had stopped,” AiF Krasnoyarsk quotes Mirzoev as saying.

The child came to his senses. As it turned out, the boy had undergone surgery to remove his adenoids the day before, which probably caused the bleeding.

Novosibirsk Lokomotiv defeated Moscow MSTU in the match of the 18th round of the Russian Volleyball Championship.

The meeting in Moscow ended with a score of 3–2 (25:21, 20:25, 25:23, 23:25, 15:10) in favor of the guests.

Lokomotiv scored 44 points and ranks second in the Super League standings, MSTU (6 points) is 16th.

St. Petersburg “Zenith” defeated “Nova” from Novokuybyshevsk in the match of the 18th round of the Russian Volleyball Championship.
