Hidalgo: “We failed, there are things we can’t control”
With a new post on Twitter, Olympiacos winger Salvador Hidalgo explained that the incidents at Agios Thomas Stadium that led to Panathinaikos – Olympiacos being postponed are proof that we as a society have failed at sport.
The second semi-final of the Challenge Cup between Panathinaikos and Olympiacos has been postponed due to the incidents at Agios Thomas Stadium.
The police did The use of tear gas to prevent Panathinaikos fans from entering (they tried to enter the closed building without a ticket) created a suffocating atmosphere and prompted the authorities to make the decision to evacuate the stadium.
Salvador Hidalgo stressed with a post on Twitter that “we have failed in sport”.
“It was a sad day for the sport! I wish all those seriously injured a speedy recovery. Off the field we all have families and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone in this world, neither this nor the next generation!
We failed in sport.” he said in his first post and a few minutes later he made a second one.
