Speaking sadly to the COSMOTE camera after Panathinaikos’ loss to Olympiakos, Dimitris Andreopoulos referred to the element that gave the ‘Red-Whites’ victory while pledging that the trefoil will achieve a European title.
“Olympiacos increased his quality and strength on serve and took us out of the net. We started to fight in attack and it happened in the following sets and achieved the win.”
Did his players believe the game ended 20-19 in the second set?
“No, no, that doesn’t happen to the big teams. We played a tough game, we lost it, we’re upset, I don’t think it had anything to do with it.”
And he concluded his remarks with the words:
“We are sad. Off the field today and yesterday with what happened in our stadium, through no fault of Panathinaikos or its fans. What Panathinaikos planned will continue. It is united and everyone united has brought Panathinaikos here, where it started from. We will continue and just like we made a promise to each other on a bench in Istanbul in December 2021, I tell you that today. Panathinaikos will reach a European final and conquer it.”
