Amateur Panathinaikos wants complaints, EDE from HEL.AS and a meeting with the minister for what happened to Olympiakos in the semifinals
Amateur Panathinaikos announced the actions he had taken regarding the events leading up to the second semi-final with Olympiakos in the Challenge Cup which resulted in the match being played without the trefoil crowd.
Panathinaikos had to play in the second semi-final against Olympiakos for the Challenge Cup at the closed ground of Agios Thomas without his team, which happened before the start of the game and first led to the clearance of the closed ground and then to the game’s postponement to the next day.
The amateur’s management announced the measures they have already taken and will take in the future to clarify what exactly happened ahead of the game. What he is asking for is a clarification of the case, the assignment of disciplinary responsibility, and he even spoke of criminal charges.
The relevant announcement states:
“Panathinaikos Sports Club announces the actions it has taken and will take in light of the sad events in the Challenge Cup home game against Olympiakos.
The management of the association sent a letter of complaint to the head office of EL.AS. where he describes in detail what really happened in the closed gym of Agios Thomas and urgently asks for clarification of the case that disciplinary responsibilities are transferred to his organs for possible breaches of duty and incomplete exercise of their powers and a corresponding sworn administrative audit is ordered.
The said letter, Panathinaikos AO notifies the Ministry of Citizen Protection while requesting an immediate meeting with the Minister to express the Association’s protests at all levels and in every aspect.
In addition, any person responsible will be sued and the association will defend its legal rights with any competent authority until the responsibilities are assigned and similar improper situations are prevented in the future.
