Olympiakos women’s volleyball team will play the first game against Targovste (22.2., 18:00) for the quarter-finals of the CEV Cup.

Olympiakos women’s volleyball team has a very challenging game on Wednesday February 22 (at 20:00 CET) when they face Targoviste on romantic soil. After the comfortable win over Markopoulos three days ago, Lorenzo Micelli’s players will be tested in Romania in the first match between the two teams for the quarter-final stage of the CEV Cup.

Olympiacos’ goal is victory or, at worst, a result that gives them increased chances of qualifying for the replay at ‘Melina Merkouri’ in a week’s time.

Speaking about that particular game, the Red and White coach said: “we are very positive and optimistic. We know we have to play at our best level and the series ends next Thursday at our own stadium. That’s why we have to concentrate on playing a big game tomorrow. Finally I have all my players in training and we are ready to face Targoviste“.

For her part, Gina Lambrousi added: “Our team made it into the top eight teams and we’re dying to take another step in Europe! We’ll do our best, we’re chasing victory against a competitive team, we’ll give everything“.
