Men’s Olympic volleyball: The red and white team trained at the SEF before Maccabi
Olympiakos men’s volleyball team had their first training session at SEF before facing Maccabi in the second Challenge Cup final.
The Olympiakos men’s volleyball team is concentrating on the grand final of the Challenge Cup on Wednesday (March 15, 20:00) at the SEF against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
On Monday afternoon (March 13th), the red and white team got a “foretaste” of the converted Peace and Friendship Stadium, where they completed their first training session.
Olympiacos lift their third European Cup in their history, continuing their preparations for the second Challenge Cup final with the Israelis with undiminished intensity, with the sole aim of making history in the full – as expected – Faliriko Stadium.
It is recalled that after the great “clean” victory (0:3) in the first final in Israel, Alberto Giuliani’s team needs two sets won in the second final of the SEF to win the prestigious Challenge Cup title.
“To celebrate a great title with our fans”
Thrylos international winger Raphael Koumentakis agreed olympiacossfp.gr: “We are two days before the final. It’s a crucial game, we’re very close and we want to score a big goal, the first big goal of the season.
We can’t wait, it makes sense. We’ve been preparing as best we can in the last few hours and analyzing as much as we can for Maccabi. We are happy. The world is on our side, which gives us the strength to present ourselves in the best possible way.
I hope that we can do that, that we’re lucky too, because you always need luck and we celebrate a great title together with our fans. We are very happy to win the title in a stadium where Olympiakos volleyball made history. On the pitch where the team have won two European Cups in the past.”
