Milos – Olympiacos 1-3: With one foot in the final of the Volley League, the Reds and Whites
Milos won the first set, but midway through the second Olympiacos turned up the heat, winning the set 3-1 and just one win away from qualifying for the Men’s Volleyball League final.
Olympiacos struggled by 1.5 sets against Milos. The red and white then turned up the heat, winning the set 3-1 and winning is one win away from qualifying for the Men’s Volleyball League Finals.
Giuliani’s players were more efficient in front of the net (56% in attack versus Milos’ 40%), which played a crucial role in the development of the game.
The first scorer was Stern with 18, followed by Koumendakis with 13. On the other hand, Boyan Yordanov finished the game with 16 points.
The match: Early in the game, the two teams went point-by-point until Herr served and sent the home team to +4 (12-8) with two aces.
Olympiakos made many mistakes and the home team took advantage of this by widening the difference, reaching +7 (20-13) and so Milos justifiably reached 1-0 with 25-19.
The home team continued at the same pace early in the second set and took a 7-3 lead, but unlike the first set, Olympiacos responded and equalized the set (14-14).
From then on, the red-whites continued to press, improved in all areas, became more efficient in attack and, together with Milos mistakes (6 from 14-14), made it 1-1 with 25-20.
From there, the Red-Whites dominated the court and easily won the next two sets to earn a 3-1 set win.
