Men’s Volleyball Cup: Police stop 200 fans coming to Kalamata for final
Authorities stopped 200 fans who came down in vehicles to watch the Volleyball Cup final in Kalamata, according to a police statement.
Police issued a statement saying that after an inspection, police stopped 200 fans who were traveling to Kalamata for the men’s volleyball cup final.
According to the press release, flares, firecrackers and narcotics, among other things, were found.
The corresponding announcement in detail: “Today, Saturday April 1, 2023, and while the Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports issued the relevant decision banning the movement of organized fans, a group of about 200 people in vehicles and vans drove en masse to Kalamata, where the final of the Volleyball Cup planned.
The individuals, as soon as they became aware of the police presence at the Arfaron toll road and just before the stop was made, threw 89 flares onto the highway slope – firecrackers, a torch, 3 makeshift flare guns (pen type), 3.6 grams of raw cannabis, 0.4 grams of cocaine and 1 tablet of Xanax.
It is reminded that fans who have an invitation and are accredited can usually watch the final of the Volleyball Cup.
