Olympiacos – PAOK 1-3: Dikefalos won the cup with a terrible performance

PAOK, who had Rapti and Den Dries in a great day, won a 3-1 set against Olympiakos to lift the trophy for the fourth straight year.

PAOK lifted the cup for the fourth consecutive year and fifth in its history, beating Olympiakos 3-1 in the final in Kalamata.

The Red-Whites won the first set, but the continuation belonged to Dikephalos. Milenkoski’s team turned up the heat and, with first fiddles from Den Dries and Rapti, achieved victory.

The match: With his serve as a weapon, Olympiakos was the one who advanced to the final better. First Hidalgo and then Travitsa helped the red and white escape with five points (13-8).


PAOK tried to react, but problems in reception did not allow it. The Red-Whites got away with eight points (20-12) and then won the first set 25-18.

The second set had the opposite picture. PAOK with the services of Raptis was the one who managed to escape first in the score, with the difference reaching +5 (13-8).

This time it was Olympiacos who had a lot of problems receiving, which Dikephalos took advantage of and easily drew 25-20.


At the beginning of the third set, the two teams advanced point by point until Travitsa’s serves gave the red-whites a 4-0 lead with three points (10:7).

PAOK fell to a point (11-10) but Giuliani’s players, led by Stern, came away again by four (15-11). Dicephalos did not give up and was confirmed. First he leveled the set 19-19 and then with a great rapti managed to finish the set 25-21 and take a 2-1 lead.


In the fourth set, PAOK entered with a high degree of psychology with foot pressed on the gas and with the duo of Rapti and Den Dries doing a great job they managed to escape the point score from the start and despite the efforts of Olympiakos, they finished the final 21-25.
