Golden Paper: Sixth Cup for Panathinaikos, fifth for Konstantinos

Panathinaikos achieved six cup wins after beating AO Thira, while Manolina Konstantinou now has five titles at the institution.

Panathinaikos has placed its name next to the title of 2022 Cup Winners in women’s volleyball. The greens prevailed against AO Thira with 3:1 sets and won the cup.

This was the sixth title for Panathinaikos at the institution in its history and the first since 2010. Overall, it is the Greens’ first title since 2011 in women’s volleyball.

From then on, Manolina Konstantinou reached the five cups, while it was the second for Eva Hadava.

Volleyball players of Kazan “Zenith” won the Russian Super Cup for the 11th time

Kazan “Zenit” became the winner of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.

On Friday, the Kazan team beat Lokomotiv from Novosibirsk – 3-1 (25:19, 25:17, 23:25, 25:21).

Zenit won the Russian Super Cup for the third year in a row. In total, the Kazan team has a record 11 victories in the tournament. Lokomotiv took part in the decisive matches for the trophy four times, but were defeated each time.

For the first time in history, the Russian Super Cup was held in the Final Four format. All meetings took place in St. Petersburg.

Kazan “Zenit” defeated “Zenith” from St. Petersburg in the semi-finals of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.

The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3-2 (25:20, 25:17, 18:25, 23:25, 15:12) in favor of the Kazan team.

In the other semi-final earlier on Thursday, Lokomotiv Novosibirsk defeated Dynamo Moscow in four sets.

The final match between Lokomotiv and Zenit will take place on Friday, starting at 19:30 Moscow time.

Novosibirsk Lokomotiv defeated Dynamo Moscow in the semi-finals of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.

The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3–1 (21:25, 25:20, 25:13, 30:28).

In the other semi-final, which will take place later on Thursday, St. Petersburg and Kazan Zenit will meet.

The final match will take place on December 26.
