Italian Novara denies what is being heard about the circumstances of Ituma’s death
In a statement from Italian club Novara, they denied that Juma Ituma had sent messages to her teammates advising she was not well before she was killed.
18-year-old Italian volleyball player Giulia Ituma died tragically on Wednesday evening (December 4) when she fell out of the window of the hotel in Istanbul where the Novara delegation was staying and was killed.
However, a lot was written in the Italian press about the circumstances of the death of the unfortunate athlete, and the team hastened to refute them with a statement.
Among other things, Novara said in their announcement:
Julia never sent any farewell messages to teammates, coaching staff or management.
The information that an old friend of hers was concerned about Julia’s condition many days earlier and contacted some of her teammates before the tragedy to stay close to her is completely false.”
At the same time, he announced that Ituma’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 18th.

A doctor from the Yenisei volleyball club provided emergency assistance to a child on board the plane
The doctor of the men’s volleyball club “Yenisei” from Krasnoyarsk, Shakhriyar Mirzoev, provided emergency assistance to the boy on board the plane.
The incident happened during the New Year holidays on the Kazan-Krasnoyarsk flight. The specialist noticed that the man and child were in the toilet for 20 minutes, and the flight attendant came in there periodically.
“I approached and saw that a boy of about nine was standing at the sink filled with water and blood. At that moment, the flight attendant began to ask if there was a doctor on board, to which I replied: “I’m a doctor, I’ll help now.”
I tried to stop the bleeding using cotton wool and improvised means that the conductors had, applying cold to the bridge of the nose. But this had no effect – everything was soaked in blood. The bleeding did not stop for about 20 minutes.
I tried to calm the child down and began to think about what to do next. I asked the flight attendants for a first aid kit and found ampoules of adrenaline there. Having opened two ampoules, I soaked two cotton pads with the solution and inserted them deep into the child’s nose. After a couple of minutes, I saw that the blood had stopped,” AiF Krasnoyarsk quotes Mirzoev as saying.
The child came to his senses. As it turned out, the boy had undergone surgery to remove his adenoids the day before, which probably caused the bleeding.

Volleyball players of St. Petersburg “Zenith” beat “Nova” and won their fifth victory in a row in the Super League
St. Petersburg “Zenith” defeated “Nova” from Novokuybyshevsk in the match of the 18th round of the Russian Volleyball Championship.
The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3–2 (25:17, 25:21, 19:25, 20:25, 15:13). Zenit extended its winning streak in the Super League to five matches.
