Women’s Volleyball League: AEK and Panathinaikos for a place in the final
On Wednesday afternoon (April 26, 3:30 p.m.) AEK will host Panathinaikos in the third semi-final of the Women’s Volleyball League and the winning team will receive a ticket to the final.
The moment of truth has come for AEK and Panathinaikos, who will face each other on Wednesday afternoon (April 26, 3:30 p.m., “Apostolos Kontos”) in the third and final game of the women’s volleyball league semi-final series.
Olympiacos has already qualified for this year’s finals (with two wins over PAOK) and tomorrow’s match winner will be the second finalist to even have home advantage (both AEK and PAO finished better than Olympiacos in regular duration).
In the previous two matches, the places weren’t that strong, as in the first match, Panathinaikos won 3-1 at Apostolos Kontos, while AEK won by the same result at Agios Thomas, sending the series into a third match.
“Tomorrow we have to get what we deserve as a team. We are fully prepared for this big fight and with the help of our people we want to show who AEK is,” he said Yunus Öcal which is not a problem.
For his part, the coach of PAO Yannis Kalmazidis remarked: “AEK are a strong team and we have to play well. In the last two games we played hard but especially in the last game in the crucial stages towards the end of the sets we weren’t that decisive. Sets are judged on details. If when you play with such a good team, you have to play well everywhere, you can’t miss anything. If we manage to control their attack with block defence, we’ll take a decisive step.”
