Papafotiou: “Such conditions don’t fit into any stadium, they take away the effort that we make all year round”
Panathinaikos captain Athena Papafotiou, in her statements on the club’s official channel, stressed that the conditions in the stadiums need to be improved.
Despite Panathinaikos’ victory over Olympiakos, Athena Papafotiou was visibly irritated by the stoppage of play, which resulted in the smoke generator igniting and the stadium being evacuated at the same time.
The leader of the Greens Speaking on the club’s official channel, she emphasized that the conditions in the stadiums need to be improved.
What he said in detail: “Congratulations to both teams, both to us and to Olympiakos because after this unacceptable interruption. Such conditions do not belong in a stadium. For as many years as I played abroad it hadn’t happened, I don’t know why still happening here.
Congratulations to both teams for coming through and finding the courage to play like we did. We’re happy to win despite the incidents, but I think everyone has more stories to tell than volleyball. They rob us of the effort, the effort that all gymnasts put in all year round.
They even miss the fans who come and pay a ticket, the five, ten, fifteen euros that they are. There is a way to deal with it and at some point the teams, the administrations and the police have to step up and take action.”.
