Malakas: “Next year we will go one step further, in three years we will have 105 titles”
Taking stock of the year in Panathinaikos’ amateur departments, Takis Malakas stressed that everything will be strengthened next season.
After Panathinaikos won the women’s volleyball championship, the federation’s president, Takis Malakas, took stock of the year.
In addition, he named the goals for the next season, but also referred to his vision for the club.
In the first conversation with PAO TV he said: “A big thank you and congratulations to the whole team, the coach and all the athletes. Last year we won the championship, but you can eventually win a championship. It’s important to repeat that and establish yourself as a champion.”
For the account of the departments: “It started well with the Super Cup. We made our belly. The sport has ups and downs. You can’t always win management in the three groups we’ve taken ten. Don’t forget that at some point we intervened to prevent the team from going to court in the first instance.
For next season’s goals: “Stronger teams. We have decided to try every year to strengthen the teams as much as our finances allow. Next year we will go one step further and have very good teams.”
For the arrival of Yannis Kalmazidis: “Yiannis Kalmazidis is an excellent coach, an excellent person and he fits in with the Panathinaikos philosophy. It was a great success for the management that they agreed to him because it wasn’t easy and it’s also important that he extends. We rely on him and time to hold the scepters. Certainly people have complained at some point and I excuse them. I have taken responsibility for this matter. As much as they were upset, so were we. And we were even more upset because we are responsible. What matters is that we try to fix it in the future and learn from our mistakes.
The year has four team titles, it has a championship in athletics, because let’s not forget that there are also the other divisions of Panathinaikos. In those three years, Panathinaikos has won 105 titles. He won the men’s and women’s Panhellenic indoor championships. Last year he won the European Table Tennis Championships. In general, the departments are successful and we support them all. Polo is on the way to getting better every year and reaching the other divisions.
The women’s football and futsal divisions, which we started from scratch because it fits the history of Panathinaikos, are currently playing in the senior national league. I think if we evaluate the whole Panathinaikos course as a whole, it justifies the effort we put in every day.
Looking back on the season, what has he regretted? “I said what I regret. We set the bar high. The dreams of every Panathinaikos player have no upper limit and every year we try to go even higher. We have a vision. We want many things not only to be done in the competition. I am referring to the organization and many details that are still missing. We have many thoughts on our minds. But step by step everything cannot be done overnight. I think in the end we will all succeed together. “.

A doctor from the Yenisei volleyball club provided emergency assistance to a child on board the plane
The doctor of the men’s volleyball club “Yenisei” from Krasnoyarsk, Shakhriyar Mirzoev, provided emergency assistance to the boy on board the plane.
The incident happened during the New Year holidays on the Kazan-Krasnoyarsk flight. The specialist noticed that the man and child were in the toilet for 20 minutes, and the flight attendant came in there periodically.
“I approached and saw that a boy of about nine was standing at the sink filled with water and blood. At that moment, the flight attendant began to ask if there was a doctor on board, to which I replied: “I’m a doctor, I’ll help now.”
I tried to stop the bleeding using cotton wool and improvised means that the conductors had, applying cold to the bridge of the nose. But this had no effect – everything was soaked in blood. The bleeding did not stop for about 20 minutes.
I tried to calm the child down and began to think about what to do next. I asked the flight attendants for a first aid kit and found ampoules of adrenaline there. Having opened two ampoules, I soaked two cotton pads with the solution and inserted them deep into the child’s nose. After a couple of minutes, I saw that the blood had stopped,” AiF Krasnoyarsk quotes Mirzoev as saying.
The child came to his senses. As it turned out, the boy had undergone surgery to remove his adenoids the day before, which probably caused the bleeding.
