Women’s Volley League: Back to the action with the PAOK – AEK Derby
On Wednesday afternoon (January 5th) the Women’s Volley League will be back with the derby between PAOK and AEK.
After the holiday break, the Women’s Volley League returns on Wednesday 5 January with round 15 games, with the PAOK-AEK and Thetida Voulas-Aris games standing out.
In the big derby of the game, we have the biceps fight in Mikra. An important game for both, because PAOK has Marco Fenolio on the bench for the first time.
The Italian coach said of the game: “That’s exactly how my premiere at the PAOK Bank comes with a big game. The situation is certainly not easy due to the problems caused by the pandemic and I did not have the time and comfort to be able to work the way I wanted to, but that’s life in sports.
However, I am completely satisfied with the feedback from my athletes during my time in Thessaloniki. “Our main goal is to be ready for the playoffs, but we know the importance of the games with AEK and Olympiakos that follow immediately.”.
On the opposite bank, AEK and Costas Arseniadis traveled to Thessaloniki for the first time in a long time without any problems and the Greek coach explained: “The championship starts after 15 days and we have to see how the teams present themselves, but I believe that in the shadow of Covid it will be a very strong and high quality game. We know how important and difficult the game is, we know that PAOK is very strong on some points, but we also want to confirm the momentum we have as a team.
The first game of the 15th round takes place in Ilisia, Elysiakos receives AO Thira. Olympiacos travels to Thessaloniki, where it meets Aiantas in Evosmos.
Panathinaikos will host its first game in Naxos for 2022 as it is hosted by Pannaxiakos in the Cyclades.
The game between Thetida and Aris in Voula is very interesting, with Giorgos Rousis’ team wanting to win to reduce the difference with the first places in the table and at the same time an informal rematch between the yellow-blacks for 3. to get -0 loss, set in the first round of the championship. On the other hand, Aris, who is in second place with PAOK, wants to keep the win in the hunt for the top.
The 15th game ends with the game of Porphyras against the Amazons of New Eritrea at “Panagiotis Salpeas”.
The game between AO Lamia and Markopoulos has been postponed.
