Oikonomous farewell to Panathinaikos: “Strong castles fall from within”
Former Panathinaikos women’s volleyball coach Apostolos Oikonomou wished to bid farewell to the trefoil and spoke about factors that cannot cope with the pressure of the championship.
After a day had passed and he had calmed down from the shock of his departure from the Panathinaikos women’s volleyball team, former Kleeblatt coach Apostolos Oikonomou wanted to say goodbye to the Greens with a post on Facebook.
The Greece coach left tips where he spoke about castles falling from within and factors that don’t know how to deal with the pressure of the Championship.
Thanking the people and department sponsor Thanos Aragiannis, Oikonomou didn’t want to take the department back to the recent past:
“I wanted a few hours to pass so that I can comment on the closing of my circle in the Panathinaikos team, because when you leave a team without knowing the real reason, the first thing you feel is shocked.
Of course, the sages always tell us that strong castles fall from within, and usually from factors that don’t know how to handle the pressures of mastery.
The main reason for my statement is that first of all I would like to thank all the players and the rest of the technical staff for the good cooperation during the season and of course for the trust they gave me and Panathinaikos to have a decent path in Europe, to win the cup after 12 years and I firmly believe that after 8 months of hard work they will be able to lead the team to win the championship after 11 years.
It would also be my omission not to thank the Panathinaikos fans, whose support in the women’s volleyball department has been warm throughout my tenure. But finally, I feel my real need to thank the department sponsor, Mr. Thanos Aragiannis, for his trust and respect on my face, even today, in the only one who has remained true to our shared vision for a Panathinaikos protagonist (without letting it shake you). the results in friendly matches, where the coaches try different schemes, of course not from mathematical operations either + -7) as well as for our joint effort to get Panathinaikos back on the road to success, the league, the titles and Europe that started last year, unfortunately it ended completely unexpectedly for me. ¨
I hope that his support for Panathinaikos will continue so that the women’s volleyball department doesn’t revert to the more recent days.
