They got offended and ran away. The Poles threw a tantrum after the decision in favor of Russia

Russia is gradually returning to international sports, but not all countries like it. Polish officials with their traditional supporters made a real hysteria after the invitation of our delegation to the meeting of the General Assembly of the European Volleyball Confederation.

The boycott had no effect.

Russia invitation

On September 3, the 33rd European Women’s Volleyball Championship ends in Belgium. On the eve of the final match, the European Volleyball Confederation (EVC) held a meeting of the General Assembly in Brussels.

The event approved a strategic development plan for five years. The functionaries also identified the key values and goals that the organization will strive for in the near future.

“Despite our achievements, we will never rest and relax, but will continue to work hard and strive for further improvement, as any recently won champions do,” said Alexander Boricic, head of the CEV, in an address to the audience.

Russian representatives were also invited to the session of the General Assembly. WFV General Secretary Alexander Yaremenko, WFV Presidium member Roman Stanislavov and WFV President Advisor Pavel Gidulyan went to Brussels.

“We couldn’t agree with that”

The event was held in a friendly atmosphere. The meeting ended with a loud applause. But the constructive work of the representatives of 51 federations was thwarted by five states that did not like the invitation to the event of delegates from our country.

– The national teams and clubs of Russia and Belarus are suspended from the competition. According to the charter of the CEV, this event should not be attended by those who are not active. Moreover, they took part in voting on important issues. We could not agree with this, and together with a number of countries we decided not to participate in the congress, – quotes the words of the President of the Polish Volleyball Federation Sebastian Swiderski WP Sportowe Fakty.

The Poles were accompanied by traditional allies who, at any opportunity, are ready to put a spoke in Russia’s wheels – Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Ukraine. Representatives of the federations of these states declared practically the same thing.

— It turned out that the EKV allowed representatives of Russia and Belarus to participate in the meeting. This is definitely unacceptable for us. Therefore, we decided not to participate in the meeting together with our closest allies, – ERR quotes the words of the Secretary General of the Estonian Volleyball Association Ivar Lilleberg.

But the CEV officials did not go along with the boycotters. Moreover, on the official website of the confederation there is not even a mention that one of the members ignored the event.

Live broadcast of the final match of the European Volleyball Championship – on the federal channel “Match TV” and thematic channels of the holding, as well as on the sites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru. Beginning September 3 at 20:55 Moscow time.

A doctor from the Yenisei volleyball club provided emergency assistance to a child on board the plane

The doctor of the men’s volleyball club “Yenisei” from Krasnoyarsk, Shakhriyar Mirzoev, provided emergency assistance to the boy on board the plane.

The incident happened during the New Year holidays on the Kazan-Krasnoyarsk flight. The specialist noticed that the man and child were in the toilet for 20 minutes, and the flight attendant came in there periodically.

“I approached and saw that a boy of about nine was standing at the sink filled with water and blood. At that moment, the flight attendant began to ask if there was a doctor on board, to which I replied: “I’m a doctor, I’ll help now.”

I tried to stop the bleeding using cotton wool and improvised means that the conductors had, applying cold to the bridge of the nose. But this had no effect – everything was soaked in blood. The bleeding did not stop for about 20 minutes.

I tried to calm the child down and began to think about what to do next. I asked the flight attendants for a first aid kit and found ampoules of adrenaline there. Having opened two ampoules, I soaked two cotton pads with the solution and inserted them deep into the child’s nose. After a couple of minutes, I saw that the blood had stopped,” AiF Krasnoyarsk quotes Mirzoev as saying.

The child came to his senses. As it turned out, the boy had undergone surgery to remove his adenoids the day before, which probably caused the bleeding.
