Women’s Volley League: Qualifying thriller for Aris, defeats Thetis in gold set
Aris needed the golden set to beat Thetida after Voula’s side prevailed 3-0 in regular time.
After a thrilling game, Aris managed to earn a ticket to the Volley League semifinals by beating Thetida Voula’s resistance in the golden set.
Aris had won 3-1 last Wednesday and needed two sets to qualify, but Thetis made an impressive comeback and led the turn to the golden set where the Mercado breakout gave Aris the lead to end the match by one loss assess serve.

The Guests recaptured the lead (6-7 attack from Anthouli) but at 8-9 Mercado’s breakout brought the ups and downs.
Ari’s diagonal tied 9-9 and formed with two blocks (in Peralta and Akta) for an 11-9, followed by two attacks from Evans to make it 13-9, with the Yellows reaching a four-way match bowl (14-10).
Anthouli got the change, Rousis threw Dragoumanou into the match for service and the score went 14-13 (out Mercado, Anthouli attack) with the thrill peaking but ingloriously ending as Dragoumanou netted the service and up the Mars sent semi-finals of the championship.

Volleyball players of Kazan “Zenith” won the Russian Super Cup for the 11th time
Kazan “Zenit” became the winner of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.
On Friday, the Kazan team beat Lokomotiv from Novosibirsk – 3-1 (25:19, 25:17, 23:25, 25:21).
Zenit won the Russian Super Cup for the third year in a row. In total, the Kazan team has a record 11 victories in the tournament. Lokomotiv took part in the decisive matches for the trophy four times, but were defeated each time.
For the first time in history, the Russian Super Cup was held in the Final Four format. All meetings took place in St. Petersburg.

Kazan “Zenit” reached the final of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup
Kazan “Zenit” defeated “Zenith” from St. Petersburg in the semi-finals of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.
The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3-2 (25:20, 25:17, 18:25, 23:25, 15:12) in favor of the Kazan team.
In the other semi-final earlier on Thursday, Lokomotiv Novosibirsk defeated Dynamo Moscow in four sets.
The final match between Lokomotiv and Zenit will take place on Friday, starting at 19:30 Moscow time.
