Milon – Finikas 0: 3: The Syrians have won and are still hoping for the title
Finikas prevailed 3-0 in Milonas’ Nea Smyrni and they still have mathematical hopes of winning the Men’s Volley League Championship.
Finikas ONEX victoriously defeated Nea Smyrni and kept his hopes of winning the title.
The Syros team defeated Milonas 3-0 to take the 26 points against 31 of Panathinaikos and 28 of Olympiakos two rounds before the end of the championship. Finikas ONEX has yet to play against PAOK in Syros and against Panathinaikos in Maroussi.
The match was ambiguous at the start but Juric led 15-11 and later 16-12 with two blocks and an attack from Frangos Finikas. Milonas with a series of 4-0 from Chandrinos, Kaislasalo 16-16, followed by a point-by-point rally to 20-20. but with three attacks from Stern and a block from Juric, the set finished 25-21.
Milonas fought back in the second set and led 14-12 with Chandrinos, but Finikas on a 5-0 run on Stern’s serve managed to overtake 17-14. and 19-15 with Jerezuelo. Milonas couldn’t get any closer and Finikas with Costa finished the set 25-19 for a 1-0 set.
The same picture in the 2nd set, where Finikas escaped the hosts’ mistakes 7:3. Costa and Juric made the difference and kept the difference at +4 (13-9), while Costa scored a little later to 17-11. With a 4-0 run, Milon reduced to 17-15, but Finikas with service force and two aces from Juric finished the set 25-19 for the 3-0 set.

A doctor from the Yenisei volleyball club provided emergency assistance to a child on board the plane
The doctor of the men’s volleyball club “Yenisei” from Krasnoyarsk, Shakhriyar Mirzoev, provided emergency assistance to the boy on board the plane.
The incident happened during the New Year holidays on the Kazan-Krasnoyarsk flight. The specialist noticed that the man and child were in the toilet for 20 minutes, and the flight attendant came in there periodically.
“I approached and saw that a boy of about nine was standing at the sink filled with water and blood. At that moment, the flight attendant began to ask if there was a doctor on board, to which I replied: “I’m a doctor, I’ll help now.”
I tried to stop the bleeding using cotton wool and improvised means that the conductors had, applying cold to the bridge of the nose. But this had no effect – everything was soaked in blood. The bleeding did not stop for about 20 minutes.
I tried to calm the child down and began to think about what to do next. I asked the flight attendants for a first aid kit and found ampoules of adrenaline there. Having opened two ampoules, I soaked two cotton pads with the solution and inserted them deep into the child’s nose. After a couple of minutes, I saw that the blood had stopped,” AiF Krasnoyarsk quotes Mirzoev as saying.
The child came to his senses. As it turned out, the boy had undergone surgery to remove his adenoids the day before, which probably caused the bleeding.

St. Petersburg “Zenith” defeated “Nova” from Novokuybyshevsk in the match of the 18th round of the Russian Volleyball Championship.
