The curtain rises on the Volley League Women’s Semifinals with Olympiacos – Aris and Panathinaikos – PAOK

In the afternoon of Green Wednesday (April 20th) the first fights for the semi-final phase of the Women’s Volley League will take place, with Olympiakos and Panathinaikos receiving Aris and PAOK respectively. With both wins, the qualification for the final is counted.

The semi-final series of the Women’s Volley League will start on Holy Wednesday (April 20) from the “Melina Mercouri” hall in Rentis and the gym in Agios Thomas, from which the final couple and their champion team will emerge. Season 2021-22.

Olympiacos welcomes Aris and Panathinaikos welcomes PAOK with qualification for the final, which will be judged on the two wins, while the next matches will be played at the headquarters of PAOK (Easter Tuesday 26/4) and Aris (Wednesday 27/4).

The first serve of the semi-finals will be dealt at Agios Thomas’s hall, where Panathinaikos will host PAOK at 16:00 about a month after the game between them at Mikra hall for the final game of the regular season in which PAOK wins by 3 -1 threw off Panathinaikos for first place.

“It’s a big test for us to see what we’ve achieved after the work we’ve done over the past few weeks. I have faith in my team and I’m sure we’ll come together from start to finish and we’ll win.”said Greens coach Branko Gates, adding:

“I saw the game that took place at PAOK headquarters a month ago and we certainly didn’t play there at the level that we can achieve as a team. However, I am sure that this time we will show our good selves and we will have more stability to achieve the desired result”.

Panathinaikos eliminated AO Thira in the quarterfinals with two wins, while PAOK needed the golden set to break AEK’s resistance, with Marco Feolio scoring from his side: “I’m really happy to play in games like the semi-finals or the final of the league.

It will definitely be a very difficult game because Panathinaikos are a very strong team, but we are also full of confidence after difficult games with AEK.

We defeated Panathinaikos at our headquarters a month ago and are psychologically and competitively ready for such a match and I personally believe the qualification is 50-50.

At 18:30 the match starts indoors at Rentis, with Olympiakos at the same stadium for their 10th game of the regular season, forcing Aris to his first loss of the year.

The red and white have no problems, Carlo Paris says: “Aris will contest this match after a strong quarterfinal. We have to try to limit the opponents’ attack and at the same time play an aggressive match on our field from the first ball.

Olympiakos reached the quarter-finals with two wins against Lamia, while Aris beat Thetida away but needed the golden set in Mikra to shut out Voula’s team, with Giannis Tsairelis scoring on his side:

“We achieved our main goal, namely the four, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t have ambitions for the semi-finals as well. Olympiacos is not only the favorite in the games between us, but at the moment also for the title win.

A doctor from the Yenisei volleyball club provided emergency assistance to a child on board the plane

The doctor of the men’s volleyball club “Yenisei” from Krasnoyarsk, Shakhriyar Mirzoev, provided emergency assistance to the boy on board the plane.

The incident happened during the New Year holidays on the Kazan-Krasnoyarsk flight. The specialist noticed that the man and child were in the toilet for 20 minutes, and the flight attendant came in there periodically.

“I approached and saw that a boy of about nine was standing at the sink filled with water and blood. At that moment, the flight attendant began to ask if there was a doctor on board, to which I replied: “I’m a doctor, I’ll help now.”

I tried to stop the bleeding using cotton wool and improvised means that the conductors had, applying cold to the bridge of the nose. But this had no effect – everything was soaked in blood. The bleeding did not stop for about 20 minutes.

I tried to calm the child down and began to think about what to do next. I asked the flight attendants for a first aid kit and found ampoules of adrenaline there. Having opened two ampoules, I soaked two cotton pads with the solution and inserted them deep into the child’s nose. After a couple of minutes, I saw that the blood had stopped,” AiF Krasnoyarsk quotes Mirzoev as saying.

The child came to his senses. As it turned out, the boy had undergone surgery to remove his adenoids the day before, which probably caused the bleeding.
