Women’s Challenge Cup: Panathinaikos and PAOK want two sets, AEK hopes for a surprise

Panathinaikos, PAOK and AEK will compete in the Women’s Volleyball Challenge Cup with the aim of qualifying for the round of 32 of the competition.

Panathinaikos will be in Tsvole from midday on Tuesday, October 17th for the second game against the Dutch team for the Women’s 64 Challenge Cup.

The Greens finished the first game last week at the Mets with 3-1 sets and need two sets on Wednesday evening (10/18, 9 p.m.) to advance to the next phase of the competition.

Panathinaikos athlete Sheridan Atkinson said: “I expect Tsvole to be very energetic at home. They will have a lot of people and the support of their fans, but now we know how they play. We want to get the victory for Panathinaikos.”.

PAOK in Cyprus for qualification

For Game 2 of the “64” phase of the CEV Women’s Challenge Cup, PAOK traveled to Cyprus to face Olympiada Neapolis on Tuesday, October 17 at 8:00 p.m.

Dikefalos took a clear lead after winning 3-1 in the first leg in Thessaloniki and now only needs two sets to qualify.

Darko Zakots’ team has a challenging week ahead of them, because after tomorrow’s game (October 17th), they also have to master the “derby” of the premiere of the Women’s Volley League against OSFP (October 21st).

Against him will be Olympiada Neapolis, which had no commitments in the Cypriot championship and will fight to overturn the result of the first game.

Regarding game 2 against Olympiada Neapolis, Darko Zakots explained on the club’s official website, acpaok.gr: “I don’t expect an easy game. We have an idea of the opponent from the first game. We are a team with a strong character that never gives up. We want to repeat the same picture as in the first game and qualify for the next round. Our situation is getting better every day. Tomorrow we need two sets to qualify, but we’re just thinking about winning!”

With Blanco and Paskova for the downfall of AEK

The AEK women’s team is in Romania preparing for the challenge against Voluntari, in the second match between them for the “64” phase of the Challenge Cup.

“Union” meets Volundari on Wednesday (October 18th, 5 p.m.) and needs a win to qualify. In the first set he suffered a 3-2 set defeat and wants to qualify for victory with 3-1 or 3-0. If he wins 3:2, everything will be decided in the “golden” set.

A positive thing for Yunus Ocal is that Blanco and Paskova are available to him. Yunus Ocal said in conversation with aek.gr: “We go into the second game knowing how important it is.” My players have played games like this many times in their careers. You know exactly what to do. We will return from Romania with a victory.”

For her part, Anna Kalandatze said: “On Wednesday we will face an opponent who has shown us that he doesn’t give up.” They have the lead, but that doesn’t mean it’s over. We are a fighting team and we want to prove it. Let’s go to Romania to overthrow.”

A doctor from the Yenisei volleyball club provided emergency assistance to a child on board the plane

The doctor of the men’s volleyball club “Yenisei” from Krasnoyarsk, Shakhriyar Mirzoev, provided emergency assistance to the boy on board the plane.

The incident happened during the New Year holidays on the Kazan-Krasnoyarsk flight. The specialist noticed that the man and child were in the toilet for 20 minutes, and the flight attendant came in there periodically.

“I approached and saw that a boy of about nine was standing at the sink filled with water and blood. At that moment, the flight attendant began to ask if there was a doctor on board, to which I replied: “I’m a doctor, I’ll help now.”

I tried to stop the bleeding using cotton wool and improvised means that the conductors had, applying cold to the bridge of the nose. But this had no effect – everything was soaked in blood. The bleeding did not stop for about 20 minutes.

I tried to calm the child down and began to think about what to do next. I asked the flight attendants for a first aid kit and found ampoules of adrenaline there. Having opened two ampoules, I soaked two cotton pads with the solution and inserted them deep into the child’s nose. After a couple of minutes, I saw that the blood had stopped,” AiF Krasnoyarsk quotes Mirzoev as saying.

The child came to his senses. As it turned out, the boy had undergone surgery to remove his adenoids the day before, which probably caused the bleeding.
