Defeat in Romania and elimination for AEK in the ’64’ of the Challenge Cup
AEK failed to pull off the surprise in Romania, suffering another defeat against Volundari and elimination from the Challenge Cup.
AEK traveled to Romania looking to overturn a 3-2 loss to Voluntari, but failed to do so as they lost 3-0 and were eliminated from the Challenge Cup.
Yunus Ocal’s team came closest to winning the first set, which they lost 25-21. In the second set, AEK lost the lead midway through the set and eventually lost. In the third round he tried to take a risk as the gaps had narrowed, but in the end he lost 25:18 and was eliminated from the rest of the competition.
