Olympiacos 3-1 Radnik: Secured qualification and aims for first place in the group

Olympiacos prevailed 3-1 in the Radnik set, secured qualification for the second qualifying round of the Champions League and will play Partizan for first place.

Qualification for the next qualifying phase of the Champions League was secured by Olympiacos Piraeus, who won 3-1 in Radnik’s set in Serbia.

The Red and Whites had a good image for two sets and scored the goal that meant victory. The first scorer for Olympiakos was Payenk with 14 points, Zoupani with 13 and Hidalgo with 12.

So they will face Partizan for first place in the group on Thursday evening (October 26th, 7 p.m., Cosmotesport 7).

The match: Olympiacos started the game strong and, with the pressure of the serving position from the start, managed to build a lead that quickly reached double figures to win comfortably 25-10.

In the second set, the Bosnians came out stronger and managed to take the lead for the first time and fight the red and whites until the tenth point.

From then on, Olympiacos Piraeus picked up the pace again and took the lead of the game. The red and white serve did half the job again and the Vourderis players reached the 2-0 set with 25:18

In the third set, Radnik’s players, freed from stress, put pressure on Olympiakos and, led by Yelic, managed to escape with the score from the start.

The red-whites tried unsuccessfully to compensate for the difference to the Bosnians, won the set 25:18 and reduced the score to 2:1.

In the fourth set, Olympiacos Piraeus and Radnik fought point for point for the longest time, but in the final the red and white team managed to escape the score and win with 25:21, which also meant victory with 3:1.

The qualification system

From the Olympiakos group, the first two fit, i.e. the red and whites together with Partizan. In the second qualifier we will form new groups depending on the places the teams occupy in the groups.

If Olympiacos finishes first, it will enter the same group as the first in the third group and the second in the first and fourth groups.

If they reach second place, they will face the first from the first and fourth groups and the second from the third group.

Of the two new groups to be formed, the first two and the best runner-up will qualify for the group stage of the competition.
