Men’s Volleyball League: Olympiakos Piraeus with the excellent Travitsa overtook Polichni
Olympiacos won a 3-0 set against Pegasus in Polichni, with Dragan Travitsa putting in an impressive performance.
With a passing and serving performance from Dragan Travitsa, Olympiacos defeated Pegasos in Polichni by a 3-0 set in a match that opened the second day of the Volley League Championship.
Jurich and Hidalgo scored 10 points each and were Olympiakos’ first scorers. Dimitris Tzurich started an Olympiacos game for the first time in 12 years, although Gustavo took his place in the 3rd set.
Pegasos took a 21-19 lead in the first set, but couldn’t fend off Travitsa’s serve, giving Olympiakos a 4-0 run to win the set. Pegasus did not have an athlete in double figures and did not score a point off a block, due to the positive attributes of the opposing pass rusher.
Olympiacos now turns its attention to the 6th qualifying group of the Champions League, which will take place in Galati, Romania from November 10th to 12th.

A doctor from the Yenisei volleyball club provided emergency assistance to a child on board the plane
The doctor of the men’s volleyball club “Yenisei” from Krasnoyarsk, Shakhriyar Mirzoev, provided emergency assistance to the boy on board the plane.
The incident happened during the New Year holidays on the Kazan-Krasnoyarsk flight. The specialist noticed that the man and child were in the toilet for 20 minutes, and the flight attendant came in there periodically.
“I approached and saw that a boy of about nine was standing at the sink filled with water and blood. At that moment, the flight attendant began to ask if there was a doctor on board, to which I replied: “I’m a doctor, I’ll help now.”
I tried to stop the bleeding using cotton wool and improvised means that the conductors had, applying cold to the bridge of the nose. But this had no effect – everything was soaked in blood. The bleeding did not stop for about 20 minutes.
I tried to calm the child down and began to think about what to do next. I asked the flight attendants for a first aid kit and found ampoules of adrenaline there. Having opened two ampoules, I soaked two cotton pads with the solution and inserted them deep into the child’s nose. After a couple of minutes, I saw that the blood had stopped,” AiF Krasnoyarsk quotes Mirzoev as saying.
The child came to his senses. As it turned out, the boy had undergone surgery to remove his adenoids the day before, which probably caused the bleeding.

Volleyball players of St. Petersburg “Zenith” beat “Nova” and won their fifth victory in a row in the Super League
St. Petersburg “Zenith” defeated “Nova” from Novokuybyshevsk in the match of the 18th round of the Russian Volleyball Championship.
The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3–2 (25:17, 25:21, 19:25, 20:25, 15:13). Zenit extended its winning streak in the Super League to five matches.
In other matches of the day, Zenit Kazan beat Krasnoyarsk Yenisey at home – 3-1 (25:18, 25:20, 25:27, 25:20), the Dynamo-LO club (Sosnovy Bor) defeated Kemerovo Kuzbass at home – 3-0 (25:15, 25:19, 25:20).
