The police officer injured in the incidents outside Melina Merkouri is in a serious condition having suffered a direct gunshot wound to the thigh.
A police officer was seriously injured in the incidents in front of Melina Merkouri during the League Cup match between Olympiakos and Panathinaikos.
The police officer’s condition is serious and he has been transferred to the Nice State General Hospital. In particular, he suffered a direct blast of fire to the thigh and lost a lot of blood as a result.
According to the police, 150 people came out of the cordoned off area and threw Molotov cocktails at the police, who then responded by using chemicals.

Kazan “Zenit” became the winner of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.
On Friday, the Kazan team beat Lokomotiv from Novosibirsk – 3-1 (25:19, 25:17, 23:25, 25:21).
Zenit won the Russian Super Cup for the third year in a row. In total, the Kazan team has a record 11 victories in the tournament. Lokomotiv took part in the decisive matches for the trophy four times, but were defeated each time.
For the first time in history, the Russian Super Cup was held in the Final Four format. All meetings took place in St. Petersburg.

In the other semi-final earlier on Thursday, Lokomotiv Novosibirsk defeated Dynamo Moscow in four sets.
The final match between Lokomotiv and Zenit will take place on Friday, starting at 19:30 Moscow time.
