Police arrested hundreds of people staying in “Melina Merkouri” as part of a major operation that began shortly before midnight.
The serious incidents that previously occurred outside the stadium during the Olympiakos-Panathinaikos derby led to A police officer was seriously injured and taken to intensive care.
Police forces responded by using tear gas, which created an oppressive atmosphere in the stadium and led to a temporary and then permanent suspension of play.

Hundreds of people remained around the stadium awaiting developments, including journalists, members of the administration and representatives of Olympiakos’ sponsors. Afterwards, introductions took place.
