The scandalous Russian athlete was beaten abroad. Christina fears for her life
The police are looking into the matter. But some consider the volleyball player’s story to be fictitious.
Volleyball player Kristina Ustinova is known in the sports world for her candid images on social networks. However, the new post did not contain anything spicy or seductive. In it, the athlete shared her real misfortune.
Her boyfriend crossed the boundaries of what was permissible in a quarrel.
Threatened to “ruin my life”
Ustinova lived in Cyprus with a guy named Georg. A handsome Cypriot is every girl’s dream. Until recently, Christina thought the same.
But everything changed overnight. On Wednesday, March 20, Ustinova published a shocking photo in which she stands with a huge bruise over her entire eye. In her caption, the girl made it clear that she was in danger.
— On Sunday evening I was beaten by my Cypriot boyfriend. I urgently bought tickets to Kazakhstan and stayed with a friend. But I continued to talk to him calmly, because I didn’t know what to expect,” Ustinova wrote on social networks.
According to the girl, she demanded that the guy compensate for moral and material damage, to which he threatened to “ruin her life.” After that, Christina went to the police, calling him inadequate. At the same time, she noted that Georg and his parents asked not to report the incident to law enforcement agencies.
Ustinova admitted that she fears for her life. On Thursday, March 21, she flew to Kazakhstan.
She left her home club with a scandal
Kristina Ustinova is better known as Karapetyan. The girl played under this name from 2014 to 2018 and achieved the most significant success in volleyball. She then became Ustinova by remarrying.
The 188-centimeter diagonal player began her career in Chita’s Zabaikalka, which plays in the lower divisions of Russian volleyball. In 2013, Christina moved to Yenisey, and the transfer turned out to be scandalous. Her coach Natalya Tsuprik demanded more compensation for her pupil’s move to Krasnoyarsk. After long negotiations, the volleyball player, who played under her maiden name Korshunova, finally changed the club.
At Yenisei, Kristina twice won the Siberian and Far East Cup. In 2016, the diagonal (now as Karapetyan) left for Kazakhstan, where she played for Irtysh-Kazchrome, Zhetysu and Almaty. The girl even changed her sports citizenship and was a participant in the 2018 World Championships. True, at that tournament the Kazakh team failed, not taking a single set in five matches and finishing in 24th place.
In November 2020, Christina announced her retirement from her professional career. The cause was a knee injury, which had been bothering the girl for a long time.
– Goodbye, VolleyBOL. Last week I took a repeat MRI. The description sounds like an old man’s knee. Sprain, rupture of the lateral meniscus, inflammation of the posterior cruciate ligament, bursitis, tendonitis, gonarthrosis and so on. And all this can be treated, and after such injuries people return to professional sports, of course! Surgery again, recovery and forward. But I don’t want to anymore. They told me that I could manage an active life without surgery,” Ustinova wrote.
But two years later, Christina returned to big-time volleyball, signing a contract with the Cypriot Apollo. After spending one season there, the girl finally said goodbye to professional sports.
Beating for the sake of hype?
While still a volleyball player, Christina was active on social networks. The girl alternated between piquant images and the working life of a professional athlete. After completing her career, Ustinova concentrated on challenging content.
Christina’s posts are often provocative. She might post nude photos or make very dirty jokes. This controversial behavior has made Ustinova a popular blogger—several tens of thousands of people are subscribed to her social networks.
The situation with the beating of the athlete divided commentators into two camps. Some demand immediate punishment for the Cypriot abuser and offer Christina all possible help. Others doubt the girl’s honesty and believe that the bruise on her face is professional makeup, and the story was invented for the sake of hype. Now the police will have to sort out the situation.

A doctor from the Yenisei volleyball club provided emergency assistance to a child on board the plane
The doctor of the men’s volleyball club “Yenisei” from Krasnoyarsk, Shakhriyar Mirzoev, provided emergency assistance to the boy on board the plane.
The incident happened during the New Year holidays on the Kazan-Krasnoyarsk flight. The specialist noticed that the man and child were in the toilet for 20 minutes, and the flight attendant came in there periodically.
“I approached and saw that a boy of about nine was standing at the sink filled with water and blood. At that moment, the flight attendant began to ask if there was a doctor on board, to which I replied: “I’m a doctor, I’ll help now.”
I tried to stop the bleeding using cotton wool and improvised means that the conductors had, applying cold to the bridge of the nose. But this had no effect – everything was soaked in blood. The bleeding did not stop for about 20 minutes.
I tried to calm the child down and began to think about what to do next. I asked the flight attendants for a first aid kit and found ampoules of adrenaline there. Having opened two ampoules, I soaked two cotton pads with the solution and inserted them deep into the child’s nose. After a couple of minutes, I saw that the blood had stopped,” AiF Krasnoyarsk quotes Mirzoev as saying.
The child came to his senses. As it turned out, the boy had undergone surgery to remove his adenoids the day before, which probably caused the bleeding.
