Kazan’s Zenit beat Fakel-Yamal in the Legends Cup volleyball match
Volleyball players from Kazan’s Zenit beat Fakel-Yamal from Novy Urengoy in the second round of the group stage of the Legends Cup.
The meeting took place in Novosibirsk and ended with a score of 3–1 (25:18, 22:25, 25:19, 25:16) in favor of Zenit.
The teams are playing in Group A together with Kemerovo’s Kuzbass and Novosibirsk’s Lokomotiv, a match between which will take place later on Saturday. On September 1, Fakel-Yamal will play Kuzbass, and Zenit will play Lokomotiv. The second round of Group A matches are taking place in Novosibirsk.
Group B includes Zenit from St. Petersburg, Dynamo from Moscow, Belogorye from Belgorod and Yenisei from Krasnoyarsk. The second round matches of their quartet are held in Moscow.
The teams that take the first two places in their groups will play in the Final Four. The prize fund of the Legends Cup is 10 million rubles, the tournament is part of the Russian Cup and will end in October.
