The Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation and the President of the Russian Olympic Committee Mikhail Degtyarev said that such meetings as matches of the national teams of Russia and Serbia on volleyball are strengthening the centuries -old friendship of peoples.
On Saturday, the Russian women’s volleyball team beat the Serbia team in a friendly match with a score of 3-2 (23:25, 22:25, 25:23, 25:23, 15:13).
– This event is not only an exciting sports sight, but also a symbol of strengthening international relations in a difficult period for world sports.
Serbia, traditionally acting as a partner in Russia in the cultural and political spheres, provided a platform for dialogue through volleyball, for which we are very grateful. Such meetings strengthen the centuries -old friendship of the two peoples.
You already know that the meeting of women’s teams ended with the victory of Russian volleyball players! I congratulated both teams on a beautiful game with great pleasure! – wrote Degtyarev in the Telegram channel.
On Sunday, in the capital of Serbia, a game will be held between the male teams of Russia and Serbia.
Since 2022, Russian volleyball clubs and teams have been removed from international competitions by the decision of the International Volleyball Federation.

A doctor from the Yenisei volleyball club provided emergency assistance to a child on board the plane
The doctor of the men’s volleyball club “Yenisei” from Krasnoyarsk, Shakhriyar Mirzoev, provided emergency assistance to the boy on board the plane.
The incident happened during the New Year holidays on the Kazan-Krasnoyarsk flight. The specialist noticed that the man and child were in the toilet for 20 minutes, and the flight attendant came in there periodically.
“I approached and saw that a boy of about nine was standing at the sink filled with water and blood. At that moment, the flight attendant began to ask if there was a doctor on board, to which I replied: “I’m a doctor, I’ll help now.”
I tried to stop the bleeding using cotton wool and improvised means that the conductors had, applying cold to the bridge of the nose. But this had no effect – everything was soaked in blood. The bleeding did not stop for about 20 minutes.
I tried to calm the child down and began to think about what to do next. I asked the flight attendants for a first aid kit and found ampoules of adrenaline there. Having opened two ampoules, I soaked two cotton pads with the solution and inserted them deep into the child’s nose. After a couple of minutes, I saw that the blood had stopped,” AiF Krasnoyarsk quotes Mirzoev as saying.
The child came to his senses. As it turned out, the boy had undergone surgery to remove his adenoids the day before, which probably caused the bleeding.

Volleyball players of St. Petersburg “Zenith” beat “Nova” and won their fifth victory in a row in the Super League
St. Petersburg “Zenith” defeated “Nova” from Novokuybyshevsk in the match of the 18th round of the Russian Volleyball Championship.
The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3–2 (25:17, 25:21, 19:25, 20:25, 15:13). Zenit extended its winning streak in the Super League to five matches.
In other matches of the day, Zenit Kazan beat Krasnoyarsk Yenisey at home – 3-1 (25:18, 25:20, 25:27, 25:20), the Dynamo-LO club (Sosnovy Bor) defeated Kemerovo Kuzbass at home – 3-0 (25:15, 25:19, 25:20).
The leader in the table is Zenit Kazan (16 wins, 45 points), Zenit from St. Petersburg (14 wins, 43 points) is second.
