General Secretary of the All -Russian Volleyball Federation (VFV) Alexander Yaremenko talked about how work is being carried out to return Russian teams to international competitions.
– The International Volleyball Federation never treated us badly, we always had friendly relations. We do a great job with them.
It is very difficult to predict how our colleagues from the International Federation will officially contact the International Olympic Committee. I know that unofficial communication is going on.
– Who opposes the admission of our team, and who – for?
– Nobody will fight for us. There are those who will always be against: the Baltic countries, Ukraine and Poland are at the forefront. The rest to compete honestly with strong rivals in a sports environment. However, it is very important what position the leadership of their states will take. Being public organizations, we are very dependent on the leadership of our countries, – quotes Yaremenko “Sports Day after Day”.
Russian volleyball teams and clubs have been removed from international competitions since 2022 because of the situation in Ukraine.
