Uralochka Director Valentina Ogienko commented on Lokomotiv’s and Kaliningrad club coach Andrey Voronkov’s refusal to apologize for the racist remark of Cuban Uralochka Ailama Montalvo.

In the last series of the Women’s Super League against Uralochka, Voronkov asked one of his team’s volleyball players, “Why are you holding this monkey again?” said.

“Let Voronkov remain on his conscience. He just talks about his human qualities again. This is his personal problem and the club’s problem. We have nothing to do with it anymore. Is suspension up to two years fair? We fully trust the disciplinary commission and will accept any of its decisions,” he said.

The All-Russian Volleyball Federation convicted coach Voronkov, who called the volleyball player a monkey.
