Russian State Duma Deputy Dmitry Svishchev commented on the two-year disqualification of Lokomotiv Kaliningrad head coach Andrey Voronkov.

Today, May 30, the All-Russian Volleyball Federation decided to dismiss Voronkov for racist remarks against Cuban volleyball player Ailama Sese Montalvo.

“Voronkov had time to apologize to the athlete, the coach cannot allow such statements. If he apologizes, we can accept it humanely. A fair decision to serve a two-year sentence. Then I think it will be difficult for the head coach to return to training, there are no vacancies in the good clubs of the upper league. He made a huge mistake and deserved such punishment, I didn’t want that to happen in our sport. If the regulations say you must be disqualified for two years, why not? Someone may disagree with me, but this is discrimination on the basis of nationality, skin color, this is unacceptable.

If he didn’t apologize, he thinks so, if he thinks so, he has no place in sports. Why go into sports to insult someone? Svishchev said in an interview with Metaratings.ru.
