PAOK Women’s Volleyball: Dikefalos announced Liagi

PAOK announced the addition of Athanasia Liagi to their women’s volleyball team roster for next season.

Nasia Liagi is also a PAOK player in Parliament. The 26-year-old Diagonal had a good season with the Pannaxiakos shirt last year.

Liagi, along with Katarzyna Zaroslinska Kroll, will take the position of diagonals. Extreme will be Olga Stranzali, Peyton Kafri, Litsa Merteki and Maria Klepkou.

Lisette Blanco, Ioanna Polynopoulou will compete along with Terzoglou and Tsioga in the middle. Libero will be Xanthopoulou with Papadopoulou and in the pass Vergidou and Iliopoulou.

PAOK is not excluded from taking another step from the foreign market depending on what will happen with their allowed number.

Athanasia Liagi, born 11/24/1995, competes as Cross and is 183 cm tall.

She started her career in the 2008/09 season and with the jersey of GS Keratea she made her first appearances in the top category of Greek women’s volleyball, where she stayed until the 2010/11 season.

The 2011/12 season found her in the AEK jersey, with which she won her first title, the championship.

After that he remained a resident of Athens, but with different goals. Panathinaikos (2012-13), AO Markopoulou (2013-2017), GS Ilioupolis (2017-18).

In the 2018/19 season, she took place outside the pool for the first time, playing for Pannaxiakos.

In the next racing year (2019-20) she tried her luck abroad, undertaking the Greece-France trip on behalf of VC Lafèrois.

In the 2020/21 season “marked” by the pandemic, Athanasia Liagi had two goals. The Greek crusader started the year at AEK but with the championship suspended and the uncertainty of restarting at the time, she was forced to look abroad for a solution and found it in Spain’s Arenal Emevé.

Last season she played for the Pannaxiakos team, serving her second term there.

Volleyball players of Kazan “Zenith” won the Russian Super Cup for the 11th time

Kazan “Zenit” became the winner of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.

On Friday, the Kazan team beat Lokomotiv from Novosibirsk – 3-1 (25:19, 25:17, 23:25, 25:21).

Zenit won the Russian Super Cup for the third year in a row. In total, the Kazan team has a record 11 victories in the tournament. Lokomotiv took part in the decisive matches for the trophy four times, but were defeated each time.

For the first time in history, the Russian Super Cup was held in the Final Four format. All meetings took place in St. Petersburg.

The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3–1 (21:25, 25:20, 25:13, 30:28).

In the other semi-final, which will take place later on Thursday, St. Petersburg and Kazan Zenit will meet.

The final match will take place on December 26.
