The women’s national volleyball team lost 3-0 in a friendly against Turkey

Our national team started a series of friendly matches against the Mediterranean team of Turkey in Smyrna with a defeat.

On the unofficial debut of Marcello Abondanza on the blue-white team’s bench, after two weeks of hard training, the Italian coach gave time to all the athletes at his disposal to participate and draw useful conclusions.

In the first set there was an equalizer (6:4), but 12:11 became 17:12 for Turkey without there being a risk of a revolution.

In the second set, the Turks quickly took the lead 4-0 and 9-4, with the national team shortening to 11-8, but there the pressure from the opponents in service made the score come down to 16-8, relatively easy to 2-0. with 25-15.

A big fight ensued in the third set (Klepkou started instead of Spanou) as the national team knocked him down in a 10-6, 17-14 loss to equal 17-17. Some bad decisions in attack brought the score to 10-17, with Greece getting close to the point (20-19) and threatening to 23-22, which became 25-22.
