The champion of the 2012 Olympics as part of the Russian national volleyball team, Dmitry Musersky, told Match TV that he would continue his career in Japan.
Musersky, 33, has extended his contract with Japan’s Suntory Sunbirds for the 2022/23 season.
– I extended the contract with Suntory for one more season. At the moment I am on vacation. I can’t say exactly when I’ll be back in Japan. I’m waiting for a visa.
There was no negative attitude towards me in Japan – neither from the club, nor from the fans. Everyone is friendly, nothing has changed. They didn’t ask me any political questions,” the Match TV website quoted Musersky as saying.
Musersky has been playing for Suntory since 2018, as a member of the club he won the Japanese Championship twice and became a bronze medalist.
