A stupid oversight put an end to a profitable business, and at the same time deprived of the chance to return to a professional level. Now the athlete faces an impressive prison term.

Alexander Khripun from the city of Odintsovo was detained by law enforcement agencies, according to the telegram channel Baza. He is charged with the article “Extortion”, which threatens with imprisonment for a term of 7 to 15 years. The man was involved in at least one fraudulent story about the misappropriation of about 30 million rubles.

The victim is a 23-year-old resident of Moscow, who was intimidated by fraudsters with the opportunity to publish her candid photos. The girl did not wish unnecessary fame and transferred 200 thousand rubles for a start, and then it somehow reached tens of millions. Perhaps the “success story” of the criminals could have been developed, but through negligence they exposed the documents of the character Khripun mentioned above. That, in turn, allowed the victim to decide to go to the police.

Absolutely criminal history has a sports background. Baza claims that Khripun from Odintsovo is a former volleyball player for Zenit Kazan. On the site of the Kazan team, you can really find the page of the diagonal Alexander Khripun, who comes from a city near Moscow. The player was related to the Volga players from 2014 to 2016, but still we are not talking about the main team. Before that, the athlete was in the structure of the Surgut “Gazprom-Yugra”, and spent the 2016/17 season in the Ufa “Ural”.

After the end of the Ufa period of his career, the path of Khripun the volleyball player in Russia was interrupted and, apparently, the path of Khripun the swindler began. At least in 2018, a conviction for extortion appears in the biography of a citizen.

However, this fact in the 2018/19 season again did not prevent Khripun from showing himself as a volleyball player. The truth is no longer in Russia, but in Cyprus. A year later, the athlete could be seen in Spain. This season he spent in the Greek team “Mytilina”, playing in one of the local minor leagues.

Perhaps the 24-year-old would have continued to wander around little-known clubs, but the off-season turned out to be too tempting financially. The choice between career and money fell on the latter. 30 million, of course, is difficult to earn in the lower leagues of Greece or Spain, but the volleyball player could spend the next decade in more pleasant places. Now the athlete faces a criminal case and an impressive term behind bars.
