Olympic volleyball medalist almost lost her eye after being attacked by a homeless man in the US
Olympic silver medalist in volleyball American Kimberly Glass said on social networks that she was the victim of a street attack in Los Angeles, as a result of which she almost lost her eye.
According to Glass, the incident occurred on Saturday when she and a friend were leaving a restaurant in the city center. On the street, Kimberly noticed a homeless man who was holding an object in his hand.
He looked at me with a rather hateful look. I turned to tell my friend, “I think there’s something wrong with him.” But before I could do that, he threw a large metal object at me, which hit me right here,” the girl said in the posted video, pointing to her swollen eye.
The former volleyball player said she was diagnosed with multiple facial fractures and needed stitches. Doctors told the 37-year-old American woman that her vision was not in danger.
– Be careful. There are a lot of mentally ill people on the streets now. You do not need to be afraid, but guys, just take care of yourself, Glass warned subscribers.
According to TMZ, LAPD have arrested a suspect, who turned out to be a 51-year-old man.
Glass is the silver medalist of the 2008 Olympics, the bronze medalist of the World Cup.
