The Panathinaikos women’s volleyball team has half-qualified for the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup in their first game against Tenerife, giving everything they had and suffering a 3-2 defeat but still hoping for a qualifying win in Spain.
In the decisive game of this season, Panathinaikos played against Tenerife without his three foreigners and specifically without Cross, Grothes and Stapanenko, but looked the Spaniards in the eye, won two sets and, despite the 2-3 defeat, can still hope for a place in the semifinals if they win in Spain.
